Press Release: Rhode Island Home Fourth in State to Receive National Green Certification
Narragansett, RI, March 1, 2011— Lawrence Builders, a Rhode Island custom homebuilder, is pleased to announce that its recent Narragansett, RI home project has resulted in only the fourth Rhode Island home to achieve the prestigious National Green Building Standard™ certification. The National Green Building Standard™ is administered and awarded by the non-profit research center, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The NAHB Research Center, in addition to administering the National Green Building Standard™, also provides third-party verification and awards a certification level based on various environmental standards.
The newly certified, Narragansett Rhode Island (RI) home maintains the custom, clean, and modern design which is a hallmark of every Lawrence Builders, Inc. home project. The 2,100 square-foot home not only met the rigorous NAHB point-based certification, but it also exceeded many of the certification requirements in several categories. One tactic that Lawrence Builders, Steve Lawrence founder used to maintain his and the clients design vision while exceeding certification requirements was to use environmentally friendly, spray-on foam to insulate the entire home which also resulted in significant reduction usage and increased energy savings. Steve Lawrence also used other energy savings methods such as Geothermal heating and cooling system, Energy Star® fixtures to achieve a 5+ rating—the highest offered by Energy Star®.
